How accurate are the colors?

They're an AI's best guess from the photo and the era. If you know a color (a blue dress, a red car), write it in the caption and Emma uses it. Badly damaged areas are filled in, so check faces against the original.

What kind of photo works best?

A flat, well-lit scan works best, but a phone photo of the print is fine: hold the phone straight above it and avoid glare. Your original is never changed.
